OUR VISION
At Floé, we’re redefining how periods are experienced.
We believe every woman deserves comfort, confidence, and freedom during her cycle. No shame, no limits, just better periods through thoughtful, sustainable design.
Floé Disc is more than a product. It’s a new standard in self-care, made to support you every day of the month.
FAQ
Floé disc is made from 100% medical-grade silicone—a safe, flexible, and body-friendly material used in medical products worldwide.
It is:
- Hypoallergenic
- Vegan-friendly
- Free from BPA, phthalates, and latex
LunaDisc meets the highest international safety standards, including US-FDA, ISO 10993, ISO 13485, RoHS, and REACH.
Unlike tampons and menstrual cups, Floé Disc collects blood without creating suction. It sits higher up in the vaginal canal—in the vaginal fornix—and stays in place naturally thanks to your body’s anatomy.
This provides up to 12 hours of protection, even on heavy flow days, without you feeling it.
With proper care, your Floé Disc can last up to 5 years.
Tips:
- Store the disc in the breathable fabric pouch provided
- Replace the disc if you notice cracks, a sticky surface, discoloration, or an unpleasant odor
- Rinse with lukewarm water
- Wash with mild, pH-neutral soap
- Let it air dry completely before storing
- Boil in water for 3–5 minutes once a month for deep cleaning
Floé Disc is designed to be flexible and comfortable, fitting most bodies. The soft rim and easy-to-grip shape make insertion and removal easier—even for beginners.
What is hands-free emptying?
Hands-free emptying, also known as self-emptying or automatic emptying, can happen when your pelvic floor muscles push downward and the Floé Disc slightly shifts, allowing excess blood to flow directly into the toilet. All without removing the disc.
How does hands-free emptying work?
For some, it happens every time they use the toilet. For others, only during heavier flow days, or not at all. But if it happens, it can be a very convenient bonus unique to menstrual discs like the Floé Disc.
When you push downward with your pelvic muscles, similar to how you bear down for a bowel movement, the disc may momentarily shift away from the pubic bone, allowing blood to flow out due to the angle. It often returns to its position automatically.
Will the Floé Disc empty during exercise, laughing, or sneezing?
No. When the Floé Disc is correctly positioned behind the pubic bone, it stays securely in place and won’t leak. The pelvic muscles that trigger emptying are only activated during intentional pushing, such as during a toilet visit, not from movement, exercise, or laughter.
For heavy flow days, we still recommend emptying the Floé Disc before a workout, and if you want extra peace of mind, you can wear period underwear or a panty liner as backup.
How do I get the Floé Disc back into place after emptying?
In most cases, the Floé Disc slides back into position naturally when you stand up, or after doing 1–2 Kegel exercises. These help your muscles guide the disc back into place.
Want to be extra sure? You can insert a finger to check that the disc is seated correctly.
